What Is The Difference Between Pneumatic, Pre-charged And PcP Air Rifles And How Do You Power/Charge Them ??

I Want to buy a good decent Air rifle as i am really getting into the sport. I have read that spring guns are not particulary good because of the recoil but Precharged , Pneumatic , or pcp or what ever they're called are just as powerful and have no recoil. Also i have read that some guns require a hand pump which costs around £100.
