What are some cities away from St. Louis?

My friend and I (aged 16 and 17) will be a lot of travel during the summer. We want to go places that are within driving distance of St. Louis to spend a few days. Nothing totally boring, we want things to do. So far, we think of Chicago, Branson, and possibly Kansas City. What are some more ideas? Thank you! FYI: It spend a few nights. Please account "for a few days." And Kansas City has good shopping. Less than 350 miles please.
