Tropical Storm Fay cause my carpet to get wet?
I survived Tropical Storm Fay, but now 3 plate mold on the cover ... my sister I said pulling the blanket dry ends, but it is not practical without having to replace everything and I can not afford it .. I have a box fan to dry the carpet like this .. Do not work?
You can use towels to absorb as much water as possible. You might also consider starting a fire. Air heating reduces moisture, things dry. Warm air has moisture much more. Then turn the A / C. Alternating between the two can lead to damp down fairly rapidly accelerate the drying process. It will also reduces moisture in the rest of the house. Or if you have a water heater can provide a form which heats the air box fan blowing from At your c. / Then you have almost built a drying unit of a commercial nature. These units use a small radiator too. The biggest problem is the ramp under the carpet. The soaking water like a sponge and because they are covered by the blanket dries more slowly. People clean the carpet trade in a region and blow air under the carpet. And something about washing the soil on the carpet in the book tends to make the smell even after drying and live where humidity is low and the mold is not a problem. If your carpet is worth it and you really want to save I would say it is better cut grass clean, perhaps the treatment, and dry, to put it on plastic sheets in the garage. Then replace the tile which is probably much less expensive. Some of the considerations which depend on the amount of water on the carpet. Good luck.
