Why are small white dogs will tear stains, but not the big white dogs?

I have never seen a large dog I tear white spots, but I see it all the time in small white dogs. Why? I do not think an American Bulldog a big dog. I mean Large breeds, Weimeraners, GSD, Great Danes, etc.
